why do you want to play solo???

im just wondering why does so many want to play a solo char i think one of BGs really strong sides is from all the talking with your NPCs=)

i've just started a new game which will be my first solo attempt. It's a sorcerer, my first magic based pc,(i'm thinking about picking up viconia as a romance but not sure). I'm not very good w/ magic and this will force me to learn. I wanted to challenge myself. I wanted the mage stronghold. plus i already have to parties going(one about halfway through soa and one near the begining of tob) and i've beaten the game before.
it's an alternative way to play

To cut a long story short, I grew bored with parties. You have to understand that most soloists have completed the game several times already. It is not like we started the game solo, we did not.

oh and actually a good deal of my inspiration to solo is because of dundee. he posts some very cool ways of wreaking havoc on the evil hordes of the sword coast

yeah i really had no desire to until i saw a couple of your recent threads.
He'll proably be on the back burner for awhile though. w/ my 2 party characters taking precedence for awhile

i hate controlling 6 chars! ... and the AI scripts always mess up everything.. so i prefer going solo.. all my games are solo (i went solo all the way after i beat the game with a 6 char party). The sad part is that until now i never tried a romance with an NPC before(my first 6 player char party, i messed up with viconia).. so i was thinking on a 2 char party.. but it stills puts me off [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Yeah I like soloing... not b/c I don't like controlling 6 people though necessarily. Just LOTS of autopause =). Also, you can turn off the AI scripts by clicking the lantern thing in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
