I seem to have lost the internet to a limited extent on my computer.
Computer setup is: 256 MB RAM, 866 MHz Processor, Win XP Proffesional, ADSL Broadband Modem; Networked to (with Internet Connection Sharing; 10 base 2): 256 MB RAM, 433 MHz Processor, Win XP Home. Just today, on the computer I use- the XP Home one- I can work every just fine; until I try to browse. I can go to whatever sites I want, but as soon as I try to click one link (doesn`t seem to matter which or where), the whole thing goes haywire. I loose the network on that computer. I can`t view files on the other comp, I can`t use the net anymore; and to get it working again it`s a reboot both computers, log in again, and the same thing happens. It isn`t my ISP, because I am on the other computer (XP Pro), and everything is working properly- I just had the problem on the other one 5 minutes ago, haven`t rebooted. I have tried clearing my temp, but it says "This action has been cancelled because of restrictions placed on this computer. Please contact your system administrator" when I try to go to the Internet Options. I use one of the other logins, and the same thing happens except I *can* clear temp and history, but it doesn`t help any. I *should* have admin privaledges on my login, but have "Restrictions placed on me". The network cable is plugged in properly to both computers. So, I`m guessing that it`s probably something to do with the network, and (luckily) doesn`t seem to be pbysical (I *can* still use the network from this computer; I just tested and can open a file from the other one; whereas from the other one I can`t access any shared folders on this one). But what can I do about it ?? |

Ok, it`s fixed itself... maybe clearing the temp on the other login helped on this one after all
