With things like Nisharu (or whatever you call em) and NPC's leaving your party with inportant items you either have to have a great knoledge of the game, know whats what and be very caustios (wich is hard for a newb like me) or cheat to get through it. There is no room for mistakes in this game !

Well, if you want to look at it that way...everytime you reload you're effectively cheating, right?

You can easily get through the game without cheating - but if you want to really maximize your game experience by getting a cool weapon or keeping a cool NPC, then by all means go for it. It's your game.

Dave, the patch fixes the Nishruu problem for you! Do you have it installed?
Anyway, I can't say I really agree with you. True, it can be difficult at some times, but no one *forces* you to cheat the items back. You could also be very puritanical about it and just consider the items lost. After all, that is what you would do in a real PnP game if a character walked out on you with important items. BTW In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with cheating back items that you feel were unjustly taken from you. So even if you maintain that the game 'forces' you to cheat, so what? What is wrong with cheating on such a small scale anyway. Just cheat as much as you think you can allow yourself. Everybody enjoys the game in a different way and if cheating is a part of that, then that's for you to decide!
Just my two cents...

On a philosphical note:
What is cheating anyway? Item editing, reloading saved games, Experience cap removers, it al depends on what you actually do. I think modifying greatly improves the game. I don't mean Ao incarnate, that is cheating, but something to just tweak an already brilliant game even more.

I dont like cheatting... but Korgan stole my Crom Faeyr and I will die if not recover it.... (he fled the party because it turned good)
Hey... like the real AD&D, to save is a cheat... but disconsider it...
the DM in a real play can be this good, dont think? Not in the game...

I don't think saving is cheating. Hell, the game autosaves for you before crucial fights. If the game does it, and it can't be avoided, who are we to call that cheating? Also as much as I would love to play 24/7, I can't and sometimes you have to save to play another day.
