Alright, I am trying to find the various thieving equipment, so that I can see what is best for my thief Jan. So far I have a bunch of rings, jans original stuff, the gloves of pickpocketing, cloak of undetection and thats it I think. Also, is there any Item that improves the number of traps that a thief has, because so far Jan has 3, and when I had yoshimo, he had 6 with his special ones, I just am trying to be prepared for the shadow dragon.
Also if you want to know, I have Minsc, Anomen, Jan, Me (sorceror), the stuck up mage and the halfling. I have the halfling because before I went into the temple, (spoiler!!!) the harper messenger appears and takes away Jahiera. Thanks

now, where are they all? I have lockpicks, mercy killer, the gloves, the cloak, invisibility and air control.
Still, besides the point, you have 10 fingers, can you put on more than 2 rings? [ 03-24-2003, 11:17 PM: Message edited by: The Lilarcor ]

SPOILERS
9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 IIRC the Ring of Danger Sense is in the Shadow Thieves lair, but near the entrance on the far EAST side of the map - usually it's locked, but seems to be openable when you acquire the shadow thief key... the Ring should be *somewhere* in the first room you come to, either that, or it's nearby in that area. (?) The Shadow Armor, I believe, is what Cromwell can forge for you once you triumph over the Shadow Dragon. Of course it disables Jan's spellcasting. Speaking of the Shadow Dragon - I believe your idea of using traps for it won't work too well, if you have the game properly patched. Thaxll'ssillyia will detect anyone laying traps in the vicinity, even if out of sight radius, and will get PISSED at you. I too thought I'd have an easy time by laying about 15 landmines, but no... I had no choice but to fight the standard way [Sorry, I'd have checked the Items Mart website to give you more definitive info on item locations, but it's down at the moment.] [ 03-25-2003, 12:29 AM: Message edited by: Mahlennacht ] |

Oh yeah, BTW - the reason Yoshimo is better at traps than Jan is because he's a Bounty Hunter. You're not going to get Jan up to Yoshimo's level in that respect.
...Nah, you can't wear more than two rings - I just keep them all in my gem-bag and *accessorize* as the situation demands. Two rings are quite enough - otherwise you'd be way too powerful, anyhow I imagine magical rings are probably finger-sensitive - they don't seem to work except on ring-fingers |

Along with the Boots of Elvenkind, there is also the Cloak of Elvenkind. Both of them are, however, obtained too late in the game to make much difference, as you should already have most of your Thieving skills covered up to 100% anyway. (Unless you're a F/T/M, I suppose.)
