there are quite a few Hive Mothers in ToB (counting WK as ToB area). The tactics smarter beholder seems to make hive mothers especially tough in ToB (they seem to be tougher than the ones in SoA and even tougher than Orb of Fear). Is that the case or is that just my imagination? the improved Hive Mothers have mighty high magic resistance and seem to have the ability to cast infinit (especially the instant-kill type) spells.

then, I tried for the first the Time Stop + Mind Flayer trick in one of my current games (the first one into ToB). Everytime Imone does that, we don't get any exp for the kill. So if an enemy gets killed by brain devour, we don't get exp? if that's case, why there's such spell for our mage to change into mind flayer???

For some reason, the game engine does not register death-by-stat-drain as an actual "kill," the way it recognizes Petrification, Disintegration, Imprisonment, insta-kill effects, and of course having 0 hitpoints. No, I don't know why, but I suspect it's hardcoded.

ok, so it's "that's a nice trick, but if you want exp for the kill don't use it" kinda deal I think it should be recognized as actual kill just like the instant-kill spells or vorpal hit.
