What happens if a lawful good goes on a killing spree?
Should pickpocketing be done only by evil oriented guys (and gals) ?

Status in society is enforced on this game, and I do not know of a work-around for it. If you do a negative action, your rank will be pulled down from good to Neutral to Evil. My suggestion is to role-play the status that you originally chose to be as best you can.

Yes try to Role-Play. I always do.
But i think it should be done like this:no aligment, but aligment would adjust due to your actions. |

Pick pocketing is not related to the evil/good part of the aligment. It'S just an unlawfull act, and thief can't be lawfull.
I never tryed having my characters act out of their aligment, but if all it does is change it, then don't worry about and act as you want. Your aligment will change to reflect your real one.

So a chaotic good thief can pickpocket the general public without change in his alignment?

At least as far as game mecanics goes. Of course stealing the money of a little kid begging in the streat for money to cure his sick mother would be evil if you knew it, but the game don't mind it.

A Paladin will become a fallen paladin and lose some of the bonuses allowed by the class if you go on a wanton killing spree
