Guy called his girls and told her it was over. (I don't remember the names). She asked hin to meet her at their favorite bar and she'd buy him a beer. They met and she bought him a beer, infact she bought him several beers. When he got up to leave, she kissed him goodby. Then she called the police, gave them his licence number and told them to bring their breath-a-lizer.
Ouch!

She should be charged with something. That's downright criminal. I mean, she's VERY guilty of "enabling" or whatever, and she PUT A DRUNK MAN INTO THE POSITION OF DRIVING. I don't care if she immediately called the cops, the guy could have still had an accident, hit a minivan filled with kids or something.
I know the idea may be mildly amusing at first glance, but it's not. Sorry Arvon.

No, she's just smarter than him. The guy just may learn the "woman scorned" lesson -- idiot.

I agree, it was funny at first but when you think about the possible outcomes, then it is wrong.
I can understand that she wanted to get him back, but she obviously didnt think of the consequences. |

Excuse me? He was the one who got behind the wheel drunk. Alright, it's a stupid way to get back at your ex for breaking up, but if the guy had any brains to begin with he would have either not drank the beer or have called a taxi to get home. She might have put him in the position, but if he'd had an accident, it was his responsibility and his alone.

not entirely true, if she was the one buying the beers, then it was her responibility to make sure he did not get behind the wheel. I was once held accountable for someones actions when I "forced" him to drink, of course no charges were filed against me, but it still made me feel like the criminal for not making sure he got home. it was a good thought to get even with your ex, but there are alot more fun ways to go about it than to put others lives at risk....

I'm not saying that she didn't act irresponsibly; if it was her intention to get him framed for drunk driving all along then she willingly put him and a number of innocent bystanders in a dangerous situation. But that doesn't take away from the fact that he should have known better than to drink and drive no matter who paid for the drinks. I'm not talking about law issues here, but about responsibility for one's own actions. Willingly creating a situation in which something like this could possibly happen is stupid, actually going along with it and letting it happen is stupider.

Wow, how people over react. The story line ended, but quite a few of you, *assumed* he drove off. What did he drive? Where was it parked? When and where did the police pull him over?
Actually he was prepared, and went two blocks over and got in a cab. His sober buddies from work retrived his car later, end of story.

That's the natural assumption to make, isn't it, for lack of further information?
Anyway, good for him that he showed some common sense. |
