I heard this on the radio this morning.
Two men were camping out at the Race Track on Saturday night, probably to see the big race on Sunday. Saturday night was rather cold, so the men started their charcoal grill inside thier tent, and went to sleep. They never woke up. The wife of one of the men called for a search for missing persons, and they were found in thier closed tent... Carbon Monoxide ...the silent killer... Folks...if you are going to burn something...you gotta have plenty of ventalation. These men should have read the instruction manual where it says not to use indoors.

Bloody hell, I'm sorry, that's idiotic. Stupid thing to do, and a stupid waste of life. Definitely removed themselves from the genepool alright.
As usual I have a personal anecdote to share ![]() I was at a meeting in winter, it was freezing cold - a small room with about 5 of us there. We had a paraffin heater, and forgot to open the window. Fortunately someone came into the room just as we were starting to feel drowsy. Pretty stupid, and a lesson learned.

That's a terrible story! Didn't know that charcoal gave off carbon monoxide, a gas grill perhaps... Even so though, I'm surprised they would put a grill inside the tent simply because of all the smoke! Ack!

Hmm. That's got to be unpleasant... not really Darwin awards, though... those are more like the guys who play Russian Roulette with landmines and such... this is just sort of depressing. *sigh*

when we were camping someone opened the bottle of gas in our tent and we nearly died of propane and butane.
