Glad you got it fixed Moni. We've got three computers in the house, mine in my computer room, one downstairs in the dungeon where I cannot smoke [img]tongue.gif[/img] and a laptop, which I hate cause of the close-together keys and always adjusting the monitor to avoid shadowing, blah! There just is nothing like yer own! So I know how the panic can set in LOL. Again, glad it was just a power supply [img]smile.gif[/img]

The thing about power supplies, is that they sometimes get very noisy when they start to fail. The problem is when the noise stops! Then you have a lot more to worry about!

Thw thing with this one Mark is that it went silently.
I had no idea if it was the modem (I don't know why I said motherboard in my first post...probably because it was # 3 on my checklist and I hand't gotten to #'s 1 and 2 yet...thinking ahead I guess) or the power supply.
It just died without warning and without a sound.

Well its ressurected now, so no worries for a while at least.
I sure hope that the cable providers keep their word and get us access soon. We've been waiting for years and they keep saying "probably next year sometime." argh.

Thanks! Yeah there is nothing like having your own PC to play on! We have two but KHaN's is out in the front room where I don't dare smoke (Grandpa has asthma)...at least in here with the door closed and the windows open I know I am not a threat to his health in spite of choosing to be a threat to my own.
