We do not learn from the pain if we do not feel it or look at it. Sometimes looking means writting about it or looking at it in an old pic or something that represents that pain. Like the pain of a lost love or a broken heart.

Realwho2 - Thanks for your comments, too. My problem was that I hung on to the stuff years after the separation and had a tendency to reread it, thus trapping myself in the past. That wasn't good, cos I just felt so terrible and unsure of myself After I did the act, I did regret it occasionally but on the whole, I feel less burdened and more ready to live in the now and face the future [img]smile.gif[/img]
