They sure are cheap in HOF mode. I only got 1000 gold pieces for clearing the goblin horde. You get 4000 in normal mode. The enemies also carry much less gold.

I remember the foes carry the same amount of gold...
I didn't loot any gold from enemies' body in chapter one. Just sell some good things you import with you characters.
Anyway, you get better more valuable items in Hof mode.

Money REALLY shouldnt matter in HoF if you exported your characters with everything they could carry (as the game itself recomends) I cleared out The Docks and then went straight to Deirdre. Showed her my wares and made 1,000,000 Gold off of just the stuff I never use. Bought the New "Heart Of" sword and the Goblin slayer(SOOOOOOOO CHEAP... not the price, the slay without saving throw) and went on my merry way. Did you not bring ANYHTING into HoF?

Well Jack, you've been through the gobbie attack before, so why waste time whittling down the little buggers? The dagger is only useful through chapter one anyway; after that you may as well sell it.

I made sure all my item slots were full and all my weapon slots too. So I had plenty to sell and have a nice arsenal. I just thought that the harder the level the XP and Gold would be increased as well.

As I metntioned after claering the golbin horde in normal mode you get 4000 gold. I HOF they only gave my 1000.

I am enjoying the challange and trying not to rest as often

I had a Question. Does the goblin slayer affect half-goblin?
If yes then it may be useful when fighting Pudu at ch6......

Yeah, it works on half-goblins (but not hobgoblins for some reason). I'd forgotten about Pudu; the dagger might very well take him out in one shot.

Do you get the improved items (LIGHT OF Cera Sumat, SAGA OF THE Wandering Sky) in HoF? I thought you can get them later in the game?

Yes... almost all the "Special" items in the first time through the game are improved in HoF. Light of Cera Sumat for instance goes from being a +5,+5enchantment with 15% spell resistance to > +10(damage/attack bonus),+5 Enchantment and 30% spell resistance. Most tiems that used to be +1 become +3 and +3 usualy are about +5 or +4 and items that had "built in spells" usualy cast a different and better spell in addition to th one they cast before. Kind of stinks to have to go through HoF for all the REALLY good stuff though.
