ok, this is buggin the crap outa me.
How do you cast Heal on your characters and how to you use potions on them?
I am gettin slaughtered by the "evil" in the totem area by the Toad Village. I can't for the life of me figure out how to heal myself. Its...........annoying to say the least.

Hi fiffa46!

That's not a stupid question at all - and you're not the only player who has had difficulty figuring out how to cast heal or use the healing potions.

For the potions - you have to use the USE/GIVE screen on the lefthand frame. Choose USE, choose the potion - and then control click upon the character you want to heal.

It has been so long since I played, I may have this wrong - I think to cast heal you have to control click on the character to be healed as well.

Check back in a while - if I'm off, someone will correct me shortly!

Wyv's got you the answer -- control-click on the character (or non-player character) you want to heal. One caveat, as I recall: you can't use a potion on yourself.

BTW, when battling Scabban's Evil, distance is your best friend. They're really nasty up close... all four of them.

No, not with range weapon. But with magics. Magics will make a short work on them.

You can make it, just run there and run out when the commentator is speaking. Slowly tip toe back there. As soon as you see one cast your spell immediately and run zig zag out dodging the poison cloud. Mana potion is good to replenish your mana . Repeat and Repeat. Be aware though those things are like borgs, they will follow you wherever you are. So be quick in dealing with them or else you won't have space to rest.

Burning Haze or is it Sun Drop ? ( the one that when cast will stay on the ground for several seconds damaging the enemy ) is a good spell to use. If not the lightning bolt will do too ( the one that will hit enemy 3 times when casting ).

Just keep going. My first party also had only one wizard. I also had a priest for healing. So one of my fighters had to adapt archery fast.

Flamedrop is my favorite spell against them. And a good place to take them on is in Shurugeon Castle. You can climb up on the wall and take care of them from a distance.

If you've got any firebombs, you can use those against them. Unfortunately, poison bombs are completely useless for them...

If you've come across any flamestrike or meteor scrolls, this is a perfect time to use them

And remember Mama Hissy's advice: save early, save often. Save at the start of the battle, and after each one goes down, save again. If one of your characters dies, reload and try again.

It can be done... honest!
