I'm pretty sure you can't replace KA and Alchemy with bardic knowledge. I tried it once and couldn't identify anything. I like to mc bards to wizard anyway, when I use them, so usually skill points aren't an issue. I've never relied on this "ability".

Thanks. Sounds like Bardic Knowledge is just fluff from the actual Player's Handbook, and has no effect on the game itself.
