how can u be backstabed in a 2D rpg?
how can we find sth dire from behind?

Do we RPG fans enjoy a poor flat 2-directioned vision in the game
just like....emmmm, an ant??

the magic of computer rpg's. we rpg fans like anything that plays well and has depth. i think that i speak for most rpg fans that we're not as picky about the visuals as fans of other genres. give us good control of our characters, a decent story/plot and great gameplay, and we're happy as heck.

Any 'RPG fan' who judges a game by its graphics shouldn't call theirself an RPG fan.

Well, that's not entirely true. If I'm forking out 50 bucks for a game, it better have stunning graphics. If I wanted something with great RPG values, I could just go to an abandonware site and get a game I used to love like Mines of Titan or Wasteland where the graphics sucked but they had a good story.

As long as the graphics are serviceable I'm fine with it. I want RPG's that have replay value so I can go back and do it again with a different class or party makeup and have a different experience. Use your imagination, its better than having everything fed to you... of course that entails actual thought and effort.

Hi,

good Graphics are a bonus but nothing more!
Playability, Storyline, Character development etc. are way more important - for me!

Yes, as for me, the things I go for in RPG are character development and playability. Just love to see my characters build up over time (esp the way I want them to be). If the game has got good graphics, well its a bonus for me.

A good video game RPG will be able to balance out graphics, storyline, and return play. Graphics alone you could just go rent a movie and fantasize about a character. RP and heavy statistics alone you could just get a bunch of friends and do PnP.
