And I wouldn't call it being 'damned man'. It's sleep eternal, complete and utter release from pain and toil. Irrevocable freedom from duty, obligation and human social construct. Sort've a well-earned payment for all of your life's hard work

Actually, it would seem pretty presumptuous for any of us to say for certain what comes after death, since after all none of us have actually died -- or you wouldn't be there keying in messages here, would you?
It has to be said, though, that all the accounts of near-death experiences one reads about make it difficult not to allow for the possibility that there is something in the hereafter. And let's not forget: just because something is wishful thinking, doesn't automatically make it false. It's incidentally interesting why so many ask where we will go after death, but so few ever ask the equally intriguing question where we were before we were born -- or before we were conceived. Sorry, I made a stupid mistake. (It's corrected now.) I thought you asked "Can I tell you K?" -- tell me where you think we came from before birth, that is.
Should learn to read people's posts more carefully. Sorry. [ 11-02-2002, 12:05 AM: Message edited by: K T Ong ]

On the contrary, it's 1.15 pm here in Singapore.
Am having lunch right now, though, so I guess that sorta makes me mess up a bit while reading and keying in messages.

I'm pretty sure I was a vast collection of proteins until I was fused together by the orders of the genetic code (itself a collection of proteins) that was formed by the zygotes of my mother and father (in and of themselves vast collections of proteins fused together by their own genetic codes etc etc ad nauseum). I think the first organically-reproducing genetic codes were produced accidentally by an extremely complicated and coincidental combination of physical forces some billions of years ago. But that's just me. Note: I don't necessarily believe that there is no creative force in our universe, simply that organic life forms do not 'go anywhere' after they have died (nor have they 'been anywhere' so to speak before they are born). I simply don't think life forms are that special, just another physical factor of the universe/multiverse.
