You cannot pick the chest, because it will be opened by completing a task. In return you get rewarded by the Smith. I wasted alot of time on that chest.

If you mean Conlon's smithy, I picked it, but my thief was at 100%, I didn't even think of trying before then. Good luck!

I tried picking the lock on that chest. Then I got sick of it and just went on with my business. I think almost everyone spends a lot of time on that friggin chest.

As far as the quest is concerned.....
Isn't there something that the Smith is missing?
Maybe help him out, and he will reward ya. It is found in an underground place...

The chest in the Blacksmiths in Kuldahar?

I opened that with my trusty thief and he was quite lowlevel. You get it opened as part of a Quest so maybe you should leave it for now. The item is not much help during the game anyhow (except i found one bit....

Sarak,

Please don't leave open HTML tags at the end of your message. I think this has been mentioned before, but just a polite reminder.

I think Ziroc also requested that you change your signature line referring to Herb.

I'm not sure if it counts as a spoiler but..

There's a hammer in there that deals extra damage to giantkin and some other negligible items.

Why?
