Best RPG ever? (we've had it before but let's have it again!)

"Fish, pickled eggs, olives, blue cheese and amongst otherthings are what my mother used to feed me. However, nothing leaves a worst taste in my mouth than the game called Icewind Dale."

That is what I think of Icewind Dale.

What does everyone one think is the worst and best RPG they ever played? I've tried to include as many as I know but I apologise since I've played only a handfull (or 2).

P.S. I've split the BG Saga into 2 because of their distinct differences and to make it seem i know more RPGs than I do!

I know this has been done before but I like repetition. Besides who can remember the results? Also please say why because it's the only non-embrassing way to BUMP my thread!

Actually the worst one is Rage of Mages 2 uuughh the horror.

You missed Morrowind on the list, it is definitely the best RPG I have ever played.

Haven't played Pools of Radiance 2 but I haven't heard anyone say a single positive thing about it.
Played the demo for Wizardry 8 and didn't like the combat style and the controls, but most people I know loved it so there has to be some merit in the game

Just installed Dungeon Siege (*smooches Wolfie*) and really like it. It's very linear and a bit simple, so expect no immersing plot or PS: Torment-style roleplaying. Just a straightforward dungeon crawl with great graphics, really easy-to-use combat system, interface and rules and lots of monster-whacking! [img]smile.gif[/img]

okay i admit when it comes to rpgs i am very much oldschool and although i love the zelda and final fantasy series they wernt on the list so i chose Neverwinter as best and as worst i picked Diablo by default because its not really an rpg its a drawn out arcade game [img]smile.gif[/img]

[img]graemlins/saywhat.gif[/img] What the hell!? I was the only one to vote Planescape: Torment for best! Ps:T is by far the best RPG I have played [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img] NwN is okay, i guess, but not that great, so far. Note - I haven`t tried NwN multi-player yet.
Morrowind.. I sure HAVE Morrowind but sadly, it`s extremely slow so i didn`t see even a quarter of the game`s full potential(which seemed to be awesome).
By means of extreme Roleplaying and a great story, Planescape: Torment has my heart [img]smile.gif[/img] . It also has the best soundtracks and atmosphere, by far!
