I forgot my exact procesor speed, and my config screen only tells me its a PentiumIII. Is there a program out there that can give me some more info?

When you boot your machine as it's counting the ram, you you should see the speed of the CPU too! If you only see a Logo (Compaq, Dell, etc.) press the escape key and you should be able to see this info.

Also if you're running Windows 2000 I think you can right click 'My Computer', choose 'Manage' and it should show you in the system section..

The Spec Sheet should tell you, if its not a home built. Otherwise You can see it on the boot up screen where the POST takes place. Its usualy above the memory counter, if you have problems with the screen not warming up in time or something the pause key works here. Failing that go into BIOS and its should tell you what the chip is set to run at. If it dosent you have an old board and will need to open it up and look for DIP switches or more likly jumper settings. You'll also need your board manual for this, but IIRC all PIII class boards tell you in BIOS.

As a note all options will tell you what the chip is running at, which may not be the same as what its rated for. Most chips can take 5%-10% overclocking w/o excessive cooling.
