How many mods are there and which should be recommended??? +++ where can I find them?

You can find many mods right here.
The tashia npc mod is good, so is the solaufein npc mod. There are heaps of mods around these days, if you want a challange try the tactics mod.

There's a lot of good stuff at the same place as Solaufein. Personally, and in no small measure because I spent a lot of time working on them, I recommend:

Kelsey NPC: http://www.forgottenwars.net/kelsey
Adds a male human sorcerer to the game. Tons of dialogue. New items, new mini-quest. Available romance for a female PC in SOA and TOB, or for Imoen in TOB.

NPC Flirt Packs: http://www.forgottenwars.net/npcflirt
Adds a bunch of new content to the Bioware romance NPCs. Aerie and Jaheira currently in release, Viconia and Anomen to come soon.
