What do you think is the best cartoon? And why?

I think my vote goes to Spongebob Squarepants. I've only seen it a couple times but I laughed hard watching it.

does this include comics? if not its the dragonball series as they have great effects, plot, charecters, everything! where else can you have an entire 20 min episode of just two blokes shouting/screaming to power up

but comics are a different story eg www.bobandgeorge.com is the funniest comic i have read in a long long time. also www.elgoonishshive.com is good.

for comics I'd have to say Calvin&Hobbes and Garfield
for cartoons Simpsons and South Park (are these considered cartoons?)

Hobbes: Good night Calvin
Calvin: Good night Hobbes, I sure hope there are no monsters under my bed.
Monsters (from under bed): No, noone here.
Calvin: Good, because I'd sure hate to have to torch them with my flamethrower.
Hobbes: You don't have a flamethrower.
Calvin: They lie - I lie.

just thought of another one

Susi (during a test): Pst, Calvin, what was the capital of Poland in the 17th century?

Calvin (not paying attention, pretending to be Spaceman Spiff): And Spaceman Spiff enters the atmosphere still chased by the evil Zargons. Laser beams miss him to the left and the right. He is HIT! KRAKOW, KRAKOW!

Let's see. I'd have to say (in my personal experience, though I am sure there are better) either Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin (sp?), or perhaps Samurai Jack. DBZ is great for the art, but that's about it. DBGT plummets as far as the series is concerned.

don't confuse cartoon with anime, DBZ is anime not cartoon. in other boards you'll be murdered for that.

Best cartoon for me is The Simpson. really funny watching Homer doing those D'oh!

Well the most popular/best anime is moe, but I won't go into that...

Alright the best cartoon comming out of America/Europe? No doubt the Simpsons... to quote SouthPark on the simpsons: There isn't anything you can do that hasn't already been done on the Simpsons.

Unfortunetly the new season which isn't under the controll of Matt G. any more really expects too much previouse simpsons knowledge from the Audience...
