Can I ask what TDD and Sola mods are?

I take it you are new with modding stuff. TDD is a mod for Baldur's Gate 2, you download it and it adds many new items, spells, kits, quests... to that game. I think it is much poorer (I mean, not so realistic) than the original game, but that is only my opinion. It is here.
Sola mod brings less changes (check this link), mainly it makes Solaufein of Ust Natha a joinable NPC.

Hey, I posted a link... just click on it. Nonetheless, here is a quote for you:

Solaufein of Ust Natha becomes an NPC who can join your party.

He's a Chaotic (Good/Neutral) Drow fighter/mage.
He has "plenty" of dialogue.
He has a number of interjections in common SoA encounters.
He will banter twice with each other party member.
He will attempt to "romance" the PC regardless of race, gender or other loved ones. If you don't like it, just tell him to go away.
He can still Dimension Door (don't abuse it!).
He can be abducted by Bodhi (watch out!).
Three Solaufein-specific challenges (one requires ToB).
Two Solaufein-specific rewards.

Looks great. I'm on my second time thru BG2 and I'm already a little bored at times. This looks great. Good the see Yeslick return as an NPC. Looks like they've got the Nalia Romance and all other such mods rolled into one. I think it'll be a while before I do it ('cause I want to finish the game normally first), but I'll certainly check this out.

Another querry on this - and this one is technical. If I don't want to change by BG2 install (on my CPU), howsabout I install BG2 on an external drive and then put the TDD mod there? I have the external drive, and its where IWD2 is so I know it runs plenty fast. But, with the game installed in two places, there may be WIN.INI issues and .dll issues. Any experts got an opinion on this?

The Solaufein mod contains a LOT more than the NPC. If you're bored, play with the optional encounters and harder combats.

And no, nobody's rolled the Nalia romance into anything.
