My mother has asked me to look over her computer, and it has a load of problems, and I've already got Adaware and Spybot S&D, but I don't know any good virus scanning programs so if anyone could suggest one which is freely downloadable, I'd be grateful.

Search for trend micro housecall - its a scanner that runs online.

You can also go to McAfee and/or Norton's websites for a free online scan.
