Emore: What a revelation for me! I've been ignoring the shield skill all this time. If I'd known it would help make the monk kick from the beginning, I would have built up that skill and equipped a shield.

Thanx for the tip!

I do believe our friend, Chaugnar Faugn, has hit the nail on the head when he states: ". . . I do believe keeping a non-weapon item (Underwater Breather)in my left hand helps me concentrate . . ."
Of course! A focus item. And now it appears that although legend of the manual states monks do best without armor . . . you all may have found a reason to acquire shield! Go figure!

Okay survey says:

Dingal (Gnome) Zenmaster Level 12

Dagger: 3 Traits: Berserk, Spirit Shield, Lethal Fist, Invincible (Will? lousy hand writing), Arm of Kung Fu: 7 Argus, possibly others traits list full.
Athletics: 1
Dex: 16
Agile: 17 Gear: Shitagi +2, Ninja Tabi +2, Kobakam +2, Acolyte Cap, Ninja Cowl +2, Monk Ward,
Hit: +27 gauntlets, Ring of Gedda and Loreca, Mystic Band. In the second weapon window: Ardibren's Keepsake.
Parry: +24
Speed: +16 Please note the absence of SECOND WEAPON SKILL. Without Keepsake I get only swings . . . with
AC: 14.10 an equal amount of kicks and swings . . . sometimes combos. Damage 17-23.

Let me say that Toad Village was restored to it's natural state upon the completion of this research!

Yes, Monks must swear vows of Chastity, but not CELIBACY. Chastity was traditionally not having sex out of wedlock, whereas Celibacy was foregoing all sexual contact whatsoever :

Soooooo, the male Oomphaz Monk MAY actually pursue a mate so long as their union is not conjugated BEFORE it is officially a union....AHEM !

:&lt) just thought I'd enlighten this subject some so as the poor male Oomphaz Monk may not be maligned or hampered any further in his quest for comapnionship.

piratejethro: Glad to see the subject of Oomphaz, Monk companionship has caused you to join our odd little forum. Actually, it's the best Wizards & Warriors board in existance!
