depends on the situation, if you want to kill something fast (dragons, Unseeing Eye, etc) Harm is much more powerful, but if u want a spell to cure all ills, poison, disease, feeblemind, etc then Heal is extremely useful, (although greater restoration is better as it also cures lvl drain.)

Try asting Harm on your own char and see how powerful it is. Or try healing Firkraag and see how far that gets you.

The spells are opposite in purpose.I find heal more useful myself, but they cannot be compared in power.

I'm more fond of offensive spells, so I guess I like Harm the best. It is impossible to compare them, though, as they have totally different effects.

heal has more use in the heat of battle, you can never underestimate healing all but one hit point, and besides harm doesn;t work all the time, heal does

Not all but one HP, but rather EVERYTHING- all HP, cures disease/poison/acid/bleeding, and anything else offensive on you... except level drain.

As for which is more powerful- neither, yet both. They have the same amount of power, just put into different effects.
