PC only. I have a feeling since it'll be on console too, it'll be dumbed down a bit, and the levels may be smaller. I even read an article in PC Gamer this month talking to the Producer of T3, he said, and I quote: "I never beat thief 2 because it was too hard, and Garrett was too fragile". OMG.... This guy doesn't understand the concept of SNEAK, so I'm worried... a LOT.

Just noticed that the first question in the FAQ asked are the levels bigger than in Invisible War. I can only assume they are speaking about DX2. What on earth do DX2 level sizes have to do with Thief 3?

Same engine, Firestormalpha.

Thread in mind, I am a big fan of the Thief trilogy but I will say that Thief 2 started to get rather tedious after a while.

The story was great, vc acting etc. but the engine was basically in the exact same state as Thief 1. It was almost like a series of excellent Thief mods but aside from some new items and opponents your tactics were the same: Sneak past the AI and get to your goal/treasure/person. In NWN's terms I would call it an expansion with some modifications to the 2das.

"But that's what a Thief does" you say? I agree, save for the fact that due to the lack of change I felt like I was doing exactly what I did in Thief 1. Nothing exceptionally new was brought to the table.

I am looking forward to the new engine and It's workings in the knowledge that it will breath new life into the game. I want to *re-learn* Thief in a better way if that makes any sense. Alongside updated graphics and hopefully a more user-friendly feel to both combat and guidance I can't wait.
