I just had the most punishing encounter in the game yet where I think I've fleed almost half of the screen to survive. It all came up rather suddenly. I was trudging through the tundra, picking off the local Abominable Snowman population and hacking off their furs when my ranger Kellethsmoth stopped the party and did a wilderness lore check. We decided to follow the path back NE and ran into Beodaewn and his wild cronies. After becoming frustrated with our seeming inability to join more than two sentences to him coherently, the party did some obligatory trading. Meanwhile, the crusty dwarf in my party saw out of drunken elven wine eyes, something glint in the wolves den. Smiling through his beard with delusions of holy grail greed, he nudged Cassandra the rogue who was already on the case.

Erm, unfortunately the dwarf couldn't control himself though and I ended up accidentally using him instead.

The fact that this action somehow 'exposed his deception' is pretty funny causation, methinks. He did it by choice! We didn't do anything against our fundamental laws.

What's even more amusing is the fact that one minute you're allowed to trade items with him and ask him for parts, then after the unbenownst exposure, they seemingly dissipate into thick mist.

Eeep. I just had an evil thought.

I can't seem to find the second diamond for Oswald Jansen (err, Fiddlebender). I have a heavy sinking feeling that I was meant to buy it from Beodaewn...

Methinks I'd best search for the answer quickly, as this game is getting addictive. Maybe an Ironworker can beat me to it with a tip or two?

EDIT: *phew*. Thankfully I only needed to look a bit harder. Ironworks search facility gets the big thumbs up again. Thanks go out to Micah Foehammer !

yeah, sucks to be you guys, that dude has some good stuff. but hes a werewolf too, in fact hes head wolf, so its good to kill him eventually... just not right away.

AH, yet another arguement for walkthroughs.

The myriad of hints were enough for me. SPOILERS AHEAD! The Wilderness lore skill finds footprints where the man's camp is; the dying man says he fell on some wolves, yet he is lying ontop some disciples; the Andorian ranger mentions something odd; the den smells of carrion and he warns you not to touch it. There's plenty of hints for most every situation in the game, you just need to connect them.
