Well, last week, Microsoft Games sent me a promo pack (And by weird timing Bioware send me a 2003 press kit the same day).
Anyway, some of you older PC users will remember that BBS 'door' game Tradewars 2002? Well 'Freelancer' is much like this. I don't know WHY they sent this game... I only cover RPG's. It's a 'gold' promo copy, and not the full game, but It seems kinda neat. More on it as I play it. Heh.. maybe MS feels bad about stiffing me out of $45,000 Also--the Bioware Press pack! I totally flipped out when I opened the folder--inside was a smal 10x8 mini-poster with 3 of the 'top dudes' that helped create Neverwinter Nights Autographed it! (The poster is of NWN). I'll scan it in maybe and so ya! AWESOME treat! Also inside was the press releases for the new add-on coming out in March for NWN and other games they are working on. Cool stuff! PS: Why didn't SOMEONE make a new version of 'Tradewars 2002' and release it ON 2002?!?!? A new version of it would be AWESOME! I remember logging off after playing (cloaking). lol! Awesome fun for a text game! [ 02-26-2003, 09:47 AM: Message edited by: Ziroc ] |

For 45 Gs, Z, i'd want just a little bit more than a promo, exclusive or no, as an apology.
Let us know how it goes all the same, eh.

Freelancer!? *falls to his knees* I've been waiting for that game for ages... have you tried it yet? Its not an RPG, but doesn't it have at least some RPG elements in it?

BTW, They must have cut back on the graphics, because I remember screenshots a year or so ago looking MUCH better and different. Heck, it's been, what--4 years since they announced this title? |

Geez would I like to see a really good, Hardcore, Sci Fi RPG. I think that last
Sci Fi type RPG that I really enjoyed and played over and over again was ShadowRun for the Sega Genesis. Fallout and the sequel were good, but I don't have the desirte to play them like I did Shadowrun. Other than that there really aren't that many Sci Fi RPG's out that that really ring my bell. E.E. Doc Smith's Lensman novels would be a really great game if they did it right. |

Whoa! Just downloaded the Freelancer Trial Version myself (150MB), its absolutly awesome! Though I don't quite like the way you control your ship (mouse instead of keyboard/joystick), I'll probably get used to it. Still, a great game. Does anyone know the Europian release date?
