Money doesn't matter. We'll keep the tax cuts and deficit spend our children's future into a downward spiraling mess, with money funneled into new and improved wars.

I don't think these men will be executed as that would turn the eyes of the (Western) world on Iran, and there's would be a risk (from their point of view) that their days in power would be counted.

Why do people always think that using troops that you already pay for every day and ships you pay for every day and ammo you use every day and tanks and trucks and stuff you use every day are are so much more expensive when used for the real thing than when they are used for regular dayily training and deployment? Yeah it does cost more, but not nearly as much as some people would have you believe. Be that as it may....keep ignoring the economy's real state and the fact that things will probably never be the same again as they were before 9/11 and get used to budget deficits...I heard all these very same arguments back when Reagan doubled the federal revenues with his tax cuts..then congress trippled their spending. It took less than 10 years to turn around and get rid of all the deficits (if you believe the Clintonian figures)...learn from history folks...please stop with the same old tired worries. Find some new ones...or maybe ones that will actually occur. It will definately help your mental state and stress level. |

Eveybody knows Reagan caused the spending increases, He wrote the spending bills and passed them through Congress all by himself, no Congressman ever voted for a single spending bill during Reagan's 2 terms. Reagan suspended the US Constitution, you know that part that says ALL bill pertaining to money MUST start in the House of Representatives

J. D. YOu forget the massive social programs he had to pass in order to get the defense spending he wanted YES he signed the bills NO they were not his idea. It was a necessary Concession he had to make against his personal desires in order to get the greater good of...you guessed it..Defense spending programs that would collapse the Soviet Union....I don't see your correction as being Correct Edit: It really DOES seem to be my day And uhhh where are the other two corrections? I have hope that they can be rescued, by special forces if not given up by Iran.
The worst way a soldier can die is either killed by his own countrymen or alone behind enemy lines as an MIA/POW, in my opinion.

Given how these people like to totrture and to commit gruesome acts..I think I would prefer to die from friendly fire...but thats just a guess, not having been in that situation. [ 06-22-2004, 01:54 PM: Message edited by: MagiK ] |
