Science is Cool

The instructor was demonstrating the wonders of static electricity to his class at MIT. While holding a plastic rod in one hand and a wool cloth in the other, he told the class, 'You can see that I get a large charge from rubbing my rod...'

That was pretty much the end of learning for that day.

*flashing back to that lab in HS physics where the phrase "charging my rod!" replaced any learning*

We had a choirmistress (yes i was a choirboy for a VERY short time. Bass, so don't take the piss too much...) who once shouted 'I need loads of men!' in an attempt to get the guys singing louder... That ended that practice.

What I remember from physics lessons is the death rays. Could take ones eye out easilly. And I remember that if you concentrate enough sunlight in a small enough space you can kill people with it. I can't remember static electricity at all.

I remember in biology, we had to watch a video of sexual reproduction, then play "match the STD with the picture", then study the causes of the STD. Actually, that never happened, but I wanted to say it.
