Finally, after many many weeks of being released in the US, it arrived in shops today. I've been waiting sooooooo long for this game. Looking forward to starting, although the first thing I did was read the manual to learn some stats like critical weapon threat ranges, max dex bonus for different armour types etc, but lo and behold, the manual seems only half complete!! It keeps refering to appendix whatever, table x etc, but they simply aren't any tables in the back of the manual! It goes straight from describing the feats to the credits! It would have been extremely handy to learn a little about the different weapons prior to character creation. Surely making the manual is the simplest part of producing a game (right, enough winging and moaning, I'm off to play it)....

Ouch! Are you sure about that manual? If so, you're missing a lot of information. After the feats, you should get the full spell list (Stupidly, in alphabetic order instead of by level), followed by a few weak pages about arms, armor, and treasure, and then all the tables. My manual ends on page 152. How far does yours go?

Im so glad the Uk finally got it - shit that was more than enuf waiting wasn't it?
The european manual is always a bit different to the u.s. one but as was said above it does look like your missing some. Don't take it back to the shop before you call the Uk branch of Interplay yourself and let them know - as the store will basically do this if u return it anyway but take longer to get around to it.

I think there has been an ongoing problem with virgin interactive and the european distributers because the game went gold way back in August, and it normally only takes about 2 or 3 weeks after the US get it till us europeans do.

Yep, just double checked. 152 pages!!!???!!! Mine goes go 83 and that's the back cover LOL. I'm missing on loads of info here - divine/arcane spell progession, warrior attack bonus/saving throws, weapon/armour info. What the hell happened I wonder...

Mine goes to page 83 - the tables and spell-list are included on the CD (in a .pdf format). See inside of front cover.

Geez, they sure cheaped out on the Euro editions, didn't they? My sympathies to all you out there who have to print the valuable info yourselves.

Thanks Ar-Cunin! In my haste to learn about IWD2's implementation of 3E rules I must have overlooked the back of the front cover page. It's still a little lame though to have to get the full manual on the CD. It's not like they've not had enough time to finalise things and iron out the creases!

Yes I agree. And you shouldn't have to go looking for PDF. files on your pc just to see tables that the manual talks about and refers to. A game manual should be self-sufficient in providing everything you need to know in order to play the game within its own contents.

Imagine if you bought a copy of IWD2 and they never bothered to include the second CD- *THEN* you'd hear people complain so in your situation, yes it's not a big worry as alot you'll figure out for yourself and as was said, u can get the PDF. file on your IWD2 cd but it's the principle of the whole thing that gives the creators a bad rep. isn't it? .

I'd recommend giving Interplay a call and then, a major grilling. I would do it big time if that happend to me.

P.s. Yes your missing alot of info and not just tables and appendix, our manuals are almost double the length of yours!~
