Yeah I never quite understand people who don't like games. I say to them:
"But you like books right?"
"Yeah of course."
"And you like films?"
"Definitely"
"And you like good music?"
"Of course"
Games combine all 3 AND you get to control it, so like eh? Why don't some people like games?? Wierd eh? hehe

i find that in multiplayer, your opponants are more 'human'. i know that sounds stupid, but the way AI act is never a good emulation of fighting a person. if you have the AI too easy, it tends to walk into walls and shoot itself in the foot. if you have it too hard (Nightmare - Quake 3) the bots have pinpoint aim, and jumping that is godlike accurate. at least when your against real people you know that they have exactly the same chaces as you, with exactly the same setup.

It's a hard choice.

I play a lot of PS2 multi (Pro Evolution Soccer 2, Burnout 2, Virtua Fighter 4) but hardly ever play online, (PC) partly due to my ok computer and internet connection.

On the other hand, I probably play single player just as much.

I prefer single, there's not much lag in single, you can spend your sweet time killing a monster knowing that the loot/gold will be yours. You can built up your characters anyway you like without being called a noob. but the most single important thing about single player is that there's no PKers . Yes, I hate PKers. grrrrr...

I'm going to prefer single player PC gaming, untill flawless voice comunication over the game can be accomplished. Don't say it isn't likely. It'll happen someday.

PKer's? I'm not familiar with the term. I may have heard of them, but definitely not by that reference. Would those be the infamous high level players to take out low level starting players for easy kills?

PK means Player Kill. PKers are those players that kill other players. usually these players uses hacked/godly/duped/uber item to make themselve invincible. They can kill you in one hit but you can't do anything to them. not all high level players are pkers. there are also low level player which are pkers also. for example a level 10 Assasin killing 6 level 90ish players in a Diablo 2 LOD game. * sigh *

I know I enjoyed one particular multi-player session on NWN with Larry, Killing Spree and Deiter, but somehow my game kept freezing and I ended up casting spells on corpses and carcasses (they had already slaughtered everything there was to kill by the time my game had reloaded itself) I am still not sure to this day what had happened, since I am on broadband and that should theoretically mean a fast loading time

Having gone through the above experience, I'm convinced that multiplayer is superior to single player, only if (i) you are playing with trusted friends; and (ii) the game is properly synchronised among the players; and (iii) everyone can get together to play regularly.

As the odds are against me for now, I am still sticking to single player... ah well, I can look forward to The Temple of Elemental Evil pretty soon
