I thought of some more, that I used to keep in a journal, in a section called "Definitions Against the Grain."

"What is happiness? Insensitivity, I guess." - Tennessee Williams

"I don't think that I will get married again. I'm just going to find a woman that I hate and buy her a house." - Lewis Grizzard

Sshhhhhh, listen! Can you smell that?

I think it was Dan Ackroyd in Ghostbusters. So stupid, it's funny.

"Although the time of death is approaching me, I am not afraid of dying and going to Hell or (what would be considerably worse) going to the popularized version of Heaven. I expect death to be nothingness and, for removing me from all possible fears of death, I am thankful to atheism."
-Isaac Asimov-

My favorite movie quote actually came from a Gene Hackman film entitled Class Action.

The basic plot is that he is used-to-be famous lawyer that makes his living pursuing Class Action suits against large corporations. In the movie, his daughter happens to work for the firm representing the corporation he is going after.

Lots of plot twists and character development ensue. In the final courtroom showdown, it appears as if the corporation has stymied Hackman's every angle of attack...then he pulls a surprise witness. The head of the lawyer firm calls for an immediate mistrial and he and Hackman are "taken into chambers". There, the leader of the firm accuses Hackman's daughter of sabotaging thier case and disclosing privileged information. He then states that she will be fired immediately and he will see that she is permanently dis-barred.

Hackman explains how the information is public knowledge and that it just took some hard looking to find it. Then he turns to the firm's leader and leans down right next to his ear, and says'

"And if you so much as look at my daughter....they won't be able to identify you with dental records!".

That is easily the most intimidating threat I've heard in ANY movie.

"If you make him mess up this shot, I'll burn down your house and marry your daughter."
Dead Solid Perfect, Good golf movie, black caddie talking to uber-prejudiced character "Bad Hair" who always screws up the pro's shot with stupid comments - sorry but I forget the name of the caddie or the pro right now.

"I'll burn your house down, circle around, and knock over the hydrant so you can't put your burning furniture out."
-- Eminem

"Whatever happened to wilding out a being violent, catching a good old-fashioned passionate ass-whoopin and getting your shoes coat and your hat tooken?"
-- Eminem again

"Your honor, contempt does not *begin* to describe what I feel for this court."
-- TL's personal "one-day-I-want-to-say-this-in-court" favorite.

Further, See my sig.

Actually, it's: "When you come to a fork in the road, take it."

and there is a funny story - I saw Yogi explain it in an interview....

Yogi's house was on a circular drive in a suburb. He was giving directions. Either way the driver turned, he would indeed reach Yogi's house.

"A lack of planning on your part does not constitute a crisis on my part" -- This applies to me nearly every day at work.

I also love this Simpson quote:
Homer: "And how is education supposed to make me feel smarter? besides, every time i learn something new it pushes some old stuff out of my brain...remember when i took that home wine-making course, and i forgot how to drive?"

Marge: "That's because you were drunk!"

Homer: "And how"
