Remember these screens?
"Enter, O Seeker..." "Found a moongate!!" "In A Dungeon" "Yay! Found the city in the forest finally...is that Yew??" Don't tell me this doesn't bring back memories for those of you who were old enough to play games back in the late 1980s...and didn't we love it back then!! |

I played plenty of 80's games, but Ultima IV was never one of them...
But how ace was R-Type? My favourite thing about the old games was the music.

Memsykins, you're messing with us oldsters! LOL I can go you one step further- do you recall when the 'adventure' games were ALL text?! I had a friend who worked in the computing industry and the latest thing was being able to use a tape to play those games on the pc! It was pretty archaic by today's standards but quite fun to unravel things and find the treasure etc.

Oh, Cloudy! I remember playing the "text only" games. Most of 'em played in DOS and programmed in BASIC, too, LOL.
If then, goto. yoiks! And we were soooo impressed with them. |

Listen, did anyone have an Apple IIe? I'm not sure if this game was for that or for IBM - but it was basically a Greek heroes game, there was Achilles, Odysseus, Great Ajax, Heracles, Perseus, and they were all going on this quest for something. It was the same style as the Ultima games. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

We used the IIe at school and I remember playing some game(s) on our "free days", but not much more than that really.

Those pics ooze with plot!
Where could one *obtain* that game? And Cloudy, some games are still all text. They still make those. Really.
