ok I have the goty version and it doesn't say the effects of all of the spells and some spells are kind of wierd to me like the lock spell was that just a fun little quirck to the game that you could lock people in their rooms and stuff or what? what exactly does sanctuary do anyway? I never quite figured that out...

Sanctuary makes you more difficult to hit with weapons.

Lock was intended to make it safer to rest, I think. In the 'prequel' Daggerfall, pretty much all the action took place in huge underground dungeons, and when you rested it was wise to lock the door to the room you were in so you wouldn't 'wake up dead'...

Because of that, I used it in Morrowind when I first started playing, but soon realized it wasn't needed.

except maybe in Tribunal, with the dark brotherhood (bleeped) trying to kill you in your sleep. maybe it could have a use. most assassins dont use spells, so it will be hard to pick an enchantedm lock....

But has anyone tried it? I think those guys just
'spawn in', no matter how impossible your location.
