I've been seeing a lot of post saying that the game is too easy.
(and a lot of mods that make the game harder)

BUT - i'm playing a "magic-heavy" char, and i'm now lvl 18 (by training magic without opponents) - i've got around 100 hp and 340 spellpoints. AND it's HARD !!! - those "mage skeletons" and others around the start town are almost killing me every time. I can just kill one, but it uses more than half my magic points, so then I need to rest - and a new skeleton respawns, so it's a bad circle to get into. - what am I doing wrong with my spellcaster ?

Can't really help you, but in my opinion. The game gets very easy after you reach level 10-12.. I'm now level 33, and I've been killing stuff with 1 blow for the last couple of 10-15 levels..

I'm a barbarian orc born in the sign of the fighter, wielding a deadric war axe which deals 80 in damage. I think I'm gonna make a mage/sorcerer next time I play it.. hopefully, it'll be more of a challenge..

I've kill 7 in 1 blow. now how easy in this game? j/k

the game is hard in the beginning. but get's too easy at 7th level and above. the only challenge in this game is to tell myself it's already 3am in the morning and must go to bed.

It all depends on your character design and what weapons the character owns.

My character is a level 22 alchemist/archer his weapons of choice are bows, spears, and short blades. The most damage any of the character's weapons do is 30. I still find the game challenging (well, at least semi-challenging). I'm sure I could find out on-line or read in a walk-thru/strategy guide where I can easily get a better weapon, but I don't have any desire to. I'm having fun with what I have.

The game provides a decent role-playing engine. There will always be ways to exploit the system, take advantage of bugs, or simply get lucky and find some overpowered artifact which makes it easy to knock down foes. As you can see with your character, whether the game is too easy all depends on your own individual experience with it.

Well, fellow Århusianer. The game is Easy for fighter types and a lot more challenging for non-fighter types.

I play a custom Warmage my self. A Breton magic specialist but with Heavy Armor / Long Blade in major and Block in minor.

It all depends on how you play the game.

You have to understand that combat is not the main focus of the game. There are quests and there is a major storyline here. There is character development, spell creation, potion creation, and weapons enchanting.

This game is not just "killing with 1 blow" , but exploration and discovery.

There's more to a game than how easy it is to kill.

Just my 2 cents.

Couldn't have said it any better myself, Skywalker! Those are my sentiments exactly. There's a lot more to do than combat, and judging by the many boards I've read and I find myself answering people that are stumped by quests that don't involve combat, I would have to say the game isn't that easy. It's of course, funny to see those same stumped people say the title is too easy yet they can't find the Dwemer Puzzle Box (the classic example of a quest that stumps a lot of people as it's so obvious as to actually confuse the player).

Maybe they just needed to add tougher monsters for the combat oriented characters, but as it stands they really didn't seem to plan for that. Of course, they supposedly plan to address that in a coming patch so.. cross your fingers if you're in the camp that simply wants tougher beasties to combat.

I'm level 26 now, with the same steel longsword (1-20 cold dam) i got around level 4-6, and the game has been too easy from level 15 and up.
I don't train my major-minor skills and only a few miscelinous (athletics, acrobatics and security).
My character is a nord crusader with enchant instead of hand-to-hand.
I agree that melee characters are overpowered. Usually, i try to start a fight with destruction spells, and slash the monster to death after. But if i end up dead, i reload and rush straight to the ennemy with my sword drawn. He stands no chance.

But then... i think the world is so big it's difficult to make it progressively difficult. Maybe i should explore more... The thoughest thing i've killed is a priest of the sixth house, i've yet to encounter a golden saint.

I haven't finished the game.. I've just freed Milo from the house of truth.. and I still haven't run into an opponent that can sustain more than 4 blows from my axe..
