Think again!
-Warnings- 1. The language after the first post is very crude, This is apparantly one of those "free Speech" forums... 2. The page has almost 5 megabytes of pictures so if your connection is slow, then click the link and then go make a coffee... But damn I feel sorry for that guy... Apparantly his mom just buys stuff of ebay and when it gets there she doesn't even open the package, just throws it into a pile... ugh.. [ 02-19-2004, 09:12 AM: Message edited by: Jorath Calar ] |

I think it is some sort of mental illness. Can't remember what is it called, but the symptom is the urge to collect things. Lots of things.

I actually read the whole damn thing! Kinda quiet and thoughtful while doing so until I reached the end and the replies. Well, if some of the stuff in the guys photos/descriptions made me laugh, the replies from the other members had me literally in tears!
Not to mention the part under pliable's post letting everyone know he edited it....well...in a different way than I am used to seeing. "Pliable ...... around with this message at etc etc. That stuff is full on and I'll be in stitches for days over it! As for the poor fellow. That's some harsh stuff there is all I can say! The best way to deal with budding OCD is to force the person to deal with change and loss continually. They will flip out completely at first, but hopefully learn a different coping mechanism in the process. Many people have this problem in one form or another. In normal amounts, it's completely natural. My fiance' exhibits what I think are slight symptoms of OCD. I've been breaking her of it slowly. I've told her when we move into a new house we will not live in clutter. I'm a firm believer in liquidating old unused items and disposing of junk as you get it. She's a firm believer in not throwing things away for fear of needing them later. Hoo-boy did she get upset when I cleaned out all the drawers to make room! I accidentally threw out a couple important things that were mixed in with the clutter. I told her important things shouldn't be mixed in with clutter in the first place. She should make a plce for important documents instead of stuffing them all in a drawer. Maybe she'll get the hint and get brave enough to go through her own stuff and dispose of the junk eventually.

Those rooms look like the material equivalent of my hard disk... useless things filling all the space.
Seriously, that person is really ill and should seek professional help.

Ho. Lee. Sh. Hit.
I can see my mother doing that, but this takes the cake...
