YaY. I finally worked it out!

My PC problem of course. After many days of much aggrivation ive narrowed it down to a handful of applications.
Seems my PC had an attack of the laggies. lots of kernel usage and crap performance. Win2k is usually very well behaved.

Now all i have to do is find and nuke the offending app then get back to my life of wanton distruciton, downloading porn and doing my game mods. [img]smile.gif[/img]

So... What kind of computer do you have?

Did it really take that long to fix?

Its a XP1800+ running win2k. Usually a very fast and powerful beasty. (i nicknamed it "the Beige Beast")
But this glitch made it run like PIO was enabled on all my drives

very unfun.
2fps for baldurs gate 2 anyone?
All it took was 3 days, a complete reinstall, and many many hours of fruitless fiddling!

Its gotta be one of the afore mentioned apps screwing with the system or leaving dregs behind to hinder everything else.

And nothing annoys me more than a problem that springs up from nowhere that i cannot solve.
