Oh, I thought that was just the lack of sleep combined with massive M&M consumption. How mundane.

Nevertheless, I hope you do manage to get some sleep soon; I can cope with the concept of 5am posts from our US IWers, from you it's just sign that things aren't looking good. And I don't suppose that the current heat is helping much either.

Oh the heat is murderous. I can barely go outside because I will burn fast. Heh, I did go out witha friend of mine the other day, we ended up walking about 8 miles with no shelter for some reason. After that, he looked like a lobster and I wasn't much better.

Saw the weather forecast for tommorrow - There are storms and showers! But guess what?
They all miss the bit of the country I'm in.

Get that sunhat on and stop believing the weather forecasts - next you're going to tell us that you believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny...

D-day for us at work tomorrow, when we find out who doesn't have a job in the latest set of redundancies - still trying to decide whether it will be better to go now or to stay and go through this again another 6 months down the line.

And I may even manage to miss the main announcements as I am off-site until the afternoon.

Huzzah for the best of employer practices.

Well to be fair, Santa Claus was based on a real person, being St. Nicholas, I think from the area of Turkey, IIRC. From what I've heard the name Santa Claus came about due to germans having trouble pronouncing St. Nick's name. there's more to it, but I'm a little fuzzy on all the details, but many cultures contributed to Santa as we know him now.

It is more the concept of him looping around the world in a single night and leaving pressies that I am concerned with.

I'd say that falls under the category of physically improbable to a very high degree true, but still, technically not impossible.

Using current technology? And I had the Easter Bunny as stew (well, might have been the EB, they all look the same once you've cooked them).

Can you honestly say you know enough to say it's utterly impossible? All I'm saying is that it isn't impossible, but I'm not saying it's actually been done either. To say something can't be done simply because it hasn't is close-minded.

We had a storm last night, and I managed to get some sleep. Not much, but still sleep. At last. Those green lights were starting to get to me.

And while I don't think it is impossible for a fat man to get around the whole world in one night, I think it is highly improbably due to insufficient advances in technology.
