at one point, while talking to an NPC early in the game, a modern name appeared on the list, not sure if it is the creator or someone involved in programing. has anyone else encountered this? or spoke his name. at the time it seemed unimportant, but it's bugging me enough to consider running the game again just to find out the reply. I've heard there is a reference in Wizardry 8 to Bill Gates as the King of Evil, or some such nonsense, and there is a char in Arcanum named Gilbert Bates who is the aggressive instigator of the games scenerio.
if any one else has encountered the conversation in their game play, please tell me if it's worth another play

I don't recall seeing that on my game, Oldmurph. I am playing patched so it may not have happened.
What was the name, it might make some sense to somebody.

it was a modern name: first last. thinking it was Bradley or Harper or Carter, at that moment I was in a hurry, running a game with no saves and pressed for time. may have been in the crypt with the stout. It is the first time I've ever seen every NPC topic appear on the scroll list, especially that early in the game. That fact is what caught my attention. the list should have been at a minimum, but included Oakenmir, Pyramid, tablets, etc.

I have seen the full list of topics appear when you click on the talk icon, but there isn't anyone around to talk to. If you're talking to someone, the list filters down.

You might check that in your game to see if the name still appears. I know you've got me curious...
