Dude77,

How did you mess up in Serpent Temple? You may not need to restart the entire game; there may be another way through this. Personally, I can't think of anything I could do in the Serpent Temple that would prevent me from completing it and the game. I could make it difficult, but I don't think it would prevent me.

One immediate option: in the inn in Ishad N'ha (or anywhere else, for that matter) you could revert the game, which will put it back in the state it was when you last left the city. But again, without knowing what's wrong, you may not even have to resort to that step.

Respond to this with details of what has gone wrong, and we'll see if we can fix you up.

ok i did not know about the figurines so i went by without getting them and i did the vault thing in the temple wrong i just did them in random order not know what it was for and let the last monkey escape i am in windows xp so i could not get into ishadnha(actualy i couldnt get out) so reverting my game puts all my characters down 7 lvls and to the point of just finishing the crypt but i suppose i could use that to fix a few things

but how do you revert do you have to be in the town? and last time i tried it it did nothing

so i dont know what to do, i am lost in the serpent temple and have to characters still alive a barbarine and a priest, the priest keeping me from total wipe out the both have decent items from money cheat, i dont have the patch or virtual dub thing, i posted about 1 month ago if i could simply hack the monkey figurines and the snake figuring

Just go back through the Serpent Temple and collect the idols - they should still be there. IF they are truly gone - do you have a save from before going to the Temple (SAVE OFTEN in different slots!)?
If you don't have that, resetting the game isn't a bad option. Your characters are more powerful and should breeze through the early part of the game. You will only loose QUEST items, the rest of the stuff you keep!

Okay, in somewhat random order:

The idols are all throughout the temple. If you missed the monkey carrying one, he's still around -- check near the rooms where you put in the serpent coins. I've found he likes to hide there. And once he's dead, wherever that is, you'll get the idol he's carrying.

For the vault thing, I'm assuming you mean the rooms where you put in the serpent coins. You can check the best tips thread for the answers, or try a few combinations yourself. Basically, flip down the correct levers, insert a coin, and a door will open. If you've run out of coins, just wander around the temple. Random encounters with priests will get you a few more, although it may take a while.

For Windows XP, you need the virtualdub thing. Check the HelpDesk thread for details on how to make it work. It's a free download (from wherever it's at). If you get stuck with that, post us back and we'll try to help. Many have installed it before you, and I feel confident that you will also succeed.

For the snake figurine, you need to either go get it (near the entrance, under the water) or if you get stuck there, check the answers to the questions in the best tips thread. It's still there, even if you've passed it by.

As for being down to two characters, you could simply exit the temple and return to Valeia for healing. Except... the virtualdub issue will probably prevent that from working too. Guess you'll have to install it.

One suggestion: when you exit the temple, exit through the front door. Once you've done so, you can go back in the front door. Without it, you have to go through the back. And BTW, the lever for the front door is not exactly where you'd expect to find it, but close.

And you can revert in any town screen, so you don't have to go back. You'll be back once you've done it, though.

I think I covered everything. If you still have questions, post again.

You're most welcome. Good hunting.

PS Remember about the duplicate signature thing, please. The graphic images can really cause problems for those people with slower internet connections.
