Long ago, members began desiring unity with like-minded friends and so was born the ideals of clanmanship. There was a clan for every fancy, sometimes more than one for a similar activity.
Long ago, clans dominated the boards of Ironworks. It was not uncommon to be associated with more than one clan, or to be in all of them. If a person sought power and dominion over others, that person would create their own clan and solicit for membership, promising that their clan was in some way superior to any other choice one could make. Long ago, clans fought for prestige. They had battles and contests to determine who was more powerful while those that governed the forums had their hands full in making sure that rules of website usage was not broken, and that basic member rights were not hindered by those that would do evil. Then...something happened. The clans began losing their appeal. New members to the land chose not to associate themselves with clans, and the older members began to forget their covenents made in their secret societies. There was too much work in keeping up with membership rosters, maintaining order and peace within their own ranks, and clan against clan battles were not so fun anymore. This was about the same time that the Role-playing Forum was born. The keys to this forum were handed to two members, Larry and Cloudbringer. A new evil was born. Few remaining today remember the time that the one known as Larry became filled with evil and his desire to rule all forums creeped into his heart. A new governing power was now in control of the most entertaining of all forums of Ironworks...and he did not like to share. Clans, for some reason, began falling apart...never to regroup. Lists were made to keep track of them, and the lists were ignored by all but a few. These lists fell eventually into the darkness of lost pages of the forum's history. But they were not totally forgotten by the Mage. Few clans made it out of the initial slumps that swallowed them alive. Of these clans, only the ALSB managed to somehow pull themselves from the muck that drowned the others. At one time, even the HADB showed signs of struggling to be reborn, but it was not to be. Last night, while many of the forum's members were either asleep in the West, or at work or away in the East...the Mage's minions grew restless. Restlessness would not mean so much to an average minion of darkness...yet the ones that were restless this night...were the Giants of Shadow...the Sons of The Mage's Power. They came, and they found those clans where they slept in the archives of the history of this forum...and they crushed them without pity, without mercy, without hesitation. It only took one post, and the historic clans of Ironworks were no more. Saved were three clan houses that could not be destroyed at this time. As afore-mentioned, the ALSB kept themselves safe because of their recent postings. The OHF could not be removed from the forums, because they were formed during the days of the blue-boards and have historic value. Finally, the giants turned their backs on the site known as Keldorn's Order, where one sits upon an evil throne, holding his own clan in place for his active role in the epic story known as The Lord of the Forums. ...an interesting read, and definatly a nice summary of what happened. So in general speak you are trying to get the ALSB, OHF and Keldorn's Order really going again?

No, actually...
It was just a post to show how innactivity destroys foundations. Most of the destroyed clans no longer have membership even visiting the forums...Those that are...are probably the only members in the clan...which in itself dissapates the clan.

True, I was in a few clans (none of the above mentioned) and it was enjoyable but they all died off.

Heh, couldn't read that post and not respond. Just who are left of Keldorn's Order nowadays? Morgeruat and myself (not that I post overly much...)? Whatever happened to Byronas? Sure was good fun back then.

Morgie is playing an evil character known as the Reaper, and resides in his dark home which used to be The Order. Now, it is a place of much suffering and death. He is opposing the Mage of Shadow, but only for dominance.
its funny how I make a post that destroys long-forgotten clans,,,and then those hiding in the basement start to scurry about.
