Ya'll should try reading the descriptions of what each alignment represents. Apparently from what you have posted, you have not and are just making assumptions on what each alignment means. I think the alignment system is spot on and now that your actions are monitored you will reap what you sew as far as how you act. If you act in an evil manner you will become more evil, if you are chaotic you will become less lawful.

Like I said...read the alignment descriptions and the examples given therein.

I think the alignments are just fine. Seems like they have pretty much everything covered.

On the topic of getting better rewards for good than evil...That's how the world works. Who's more likely to be rewarded, a good person or an evil person? Just take it all in stride and "encourage" them to give you a bigger reward for the hard work you've done (a dagger to their neck is a wonderful negotiation tool).

Using your example of the demon in Helm's Hold...I agree with you that getting twice the amount of XP for being good isn't fair to evil characters...getting some lame item or a temporary stat boost doesn't compare at all. However, I think it's much cooler to make a deal with a demon than to restore some lame benelovent guardian.

Im not sure Ive explained what I mean very well... there are THREE types of GOOD for ALLIGNMENTs, LG, NG, and CG. BUT, you can only -how can I put this- if you play true to your allignment; eg, a CG character might take down a baron in a castle because of his tyranny, and trash the place at the same time... where as, a paladin would simply kill the baron. what Im saying is there is not enough... oh never mind. Ill give another example:

My char is a ranger, NG. he was hunting down a convict; wyrmn, and wyrmy gave his side of the story, now the NG thing to do would be to let him go, because its unhonourable to kill a unarmed man, and also, because he swore to live out his life in the forest. Taking a quest of vengence is a NG thing to do. LG on the other would take his head... a CG is.. well erratic and might do either, or even walk away... however WHEN I did the NG thing to LET him GO, it SHIFTED my allignment a few pts towards evil. all Im saying is, that I think that the game only allows you TWO choices; either LG or evil. This is what Im complaining about, not the discriptions for the allignments.

Not only are there no chaotic/lawful adjustments, there are relatively few good/evil adjustments. If I refuse gold for a reward, I will get several points for good. If I ask for more gold, I get no alignment adjustment. I'm not saying asking for more is good, but it's certainly the opposite of refusing it.

There are no chaotic/lawful changes whatsoever, that I have found. I don't take the rude/threatening conversation options, so I can't say for sure. I did hit one by mistake, and it moved me towards evil.

You can loot whatever you want, with no alignment adjustments. Certain quests, most noteably the thief related quests should have some alignment adjustments, but they have none. You can trick the woman with the stone in chapter 2 with no alignment change.

Overall, they have done a minimal job of supporting alignments, so I agree. Admittedly, it would be challenging to add alignment adjustments to a whole slew of new activities.

About lawful/chaotic adjustments: in PS:T, you get chaotic adjustments for playing with the modron doll.

I see what you mean in that particular example of Wyrmn, but I feel that the majority of the game is fairly well-rounded.

I started my barbarian as CN, and he is now CG.

I did find it odd that I got good points for helping people, but got no evil points for, basically, "home invsasions".

It only disturbs me a little as one of my other pc's is a druid and must remain Neutral...
