I can't seem to figure out a few issues with a new character that I am making.
Relevant stats: elven fighter/berserk strengh 18/92 con 17(+3) 5 points in longsword proficienty Game is set to normal for max hit points during creation, then set to core rules, well the problem is this, I am getting a 7th level character with 101 hit points and I don't think that is correct, should be 91. D10 per level = 70 + the +3 per lever for constitution. Also can someon tell me if the patches have corrected the weapon specialization "to hit" as opposed to what's in the bg2 manual? I'm getting +6 to hit with a normal longsword and my math is this: +2 for str +2 for weapon specializatin (according to manual)(+3 if patch fixed mistake) +1 elven bonus for longswords total =5 Anyone know if I'm missing somthing? ------------------ To quote the pestering peasant, Neeber, of tradesmeet: "I killed a rabid rabbit! Maybe you're wearing something that gives additional HP. Do you have the Helm of Balduran equipped?
Perhaps the sword is a +1? That means +1 to THAC0 and Damage. |

No, Nanobyte, I'm bare as can be, just a normal longword is the only equipment I have.

You also get +1 because you are an elf. Elves get bonus while using the long sword and bows.

Yes, Alaric, I have that factored in.

If you are a berserker you get extra HP when you are berserk?

I think the patch adds an extra +1 to grandmastery's "to hit" value. Which would make it: 3 from granmastery 1 from elven bonus 2 from strength. which makes six. The con thing is a bit screwy... i've had level 12 fighters with anywhere between 80hp and 145hp. ------------------ |

Aware of that, Epona, con thing is in a non rage state so unless there is some rule in D&D that I'm not aware of for the extra hp's. I've tried this with a human and half elf fighter makeup and the puter did this for all of them.
That's the only conclusion I can come to also, Jerome, it's just that I didn't see that particular fix in the read me files of the patches which is why I was curious. On a sidenote, I'm glad to know that the elves get the bonus past 5 points in longswords...good thing! Thanks for help. ------------------ To quote the pestering peasant, Neeber, of tradesmeet: "I killed a rabid rabbit! I'm experienced, now!" |
