What do you call fast?
I would say if you are experienced enough you should be able to finish with 3 members Especially if you have a cap remover or ToB installed as 3 higher level characters are as good as 6 lower level characters ------------------ |

Yeah... I guess it really could be possible to play with 3 party members, if you are experienced player.
I am not very new and not pro either, so I play with 6 members. You can gain exp. fast enough then too. |

Always remember that, the less players you have, the less stories you'll have. A greater part of BGII is about the stories of each and everyone of those characters. So, yes, you can aim for the challenge of few players, but you can also enjoy each of there habilities to their maximum. |

I have always played with six characters as I think it keeps the game more interesting, especially if you mix you party up (good & evil). There is more than enough exp. to go around if you pick up on a few sub-quests.

I have played the game with six characters to the point where I got Imoen back. Well, I kicked him out because I didn't like him and thought that soon I'll get an another character to replace him. But noo, like most of you know, it took SOME time to get back to Amn, so I got used to have only five chars in my party. Now, I lost Aeriel (one quest-thing) and I'm fighting with only four chars, but no problems so far. Expect that I can't varry all the stuff I wanted...

There is strengh in numbers and just plain more fun, yet, I do hate it when all of the party members rush for an open door to see who gets there first, gets messy with lots of name calling
