Was anybody else dissapointed with the packaging and manual that came with BGII? I purchased the BGI/TOSC games as a combined set which contained an impressive CD holder, double sided map and manual. BGII was mediocre in comparison, maybe this was just the UK version. Any thoughts?

Worse packaging but better game.... what would you prefer?

Did you get the cloth map though? How cool was that though? You could roll it up like a scroll in Faerun. Huh? Huh?

Oh well I dug it.

To be honest you got great value for money with the combined BG1/TOSC, however when i purchased BG1 on its first release, the enclosures were no different from BGII except for the dodgy card CD holder which was always prone to spilling its contents everywhere.

I am sure that when the follow up to BGII comes and they again release a combined package when sales are flagging, it will have everything in it, including maps and hint books etc, which will make for a very good purchase indeed.

I expect as with all long awaited new releases, publishers don't have to worry too much on whats inside the box as most people tend to dive straight in and install the game!

BG did not invent the cloth map idea. Ultima did.
I have a lot of those still pinned on my wall.

Bonjour a toi, Ô sage entre les sages !

Just now, I am a little shaky, I just had a car crash this morning, and my car is in pieces.
My son and I only got several bumps and a big fear.

Nice it is to live in a country without ice on the road.

Oh my Gosh. I thought something was up. Glad you're ok.
We may not have ice but we have lunatics. I've had numerous accidents here. Wrote my car off a few months ago, and 11 years ago landed in hospital with my brother as a result of a crash. Both of us ended up in neckbraces.
I'm glad your son is ok. It must have been a big shock.

Simple enough : there is nothing looking like a car in BG II.
Or maybe a Paladin. We call them 'tin box' here.
