Non-game topics should go to the General Discussions Forum, Haldir. Have you read the FAQ yet? You really should.

I know one. It is not an ancient one but it is funny:

"Homo sapiens non urinat in ventum"

I believe it adorns a dutch building somewhere. The ones who commisioned it thought there should have a latin phrase on the front. So the architect came up with this one. ROFLMAO

[Edit]
Found it. It's a building on the "leidse plein" in amsterdam.
Look here.

That's brilliant! I used to have that in my sig at another forum, but I had no idea it was actually engraved into stone some twenty minutes away from where I live!

Okay, so my Latin is rather rusty, but does that tend to mean what I suspect? People don't urinate in the wind?

ROTFL! I wonder if anyone came back to get even with the architect...

No I believe they were too embarassed to raise an argument.

The translation I use (which is dutch of course, but I translated it here for you all) is "a wise man does not urinate into the wind"

I don't know for sure about the "into" part but you understand what it means.

it is definitely "into" because it's in+accusative which expresses directions opposed to in+ablative which expresses locations.
