I have finished the Dragon's Spire and got the Mavin Sword. Then went to
Brimlock Roon. I can go back to Ishad N'ha OK by going up a ramp on the
north side of the spire and down a cliff on the south side. But I can't
find a way back up, from the south, without going through the whole of the
underlying caves (I hate that stream with a current!). I think I have
finished all I need to do on the south side but would like to know the
answer anyway, if there is one. Is telporting (don't have it yet) the
only way?

Unfortunately, yes...both the Create Portal and Teleport spells will be necessary.
In the meantime, hang on to your bridge crank and try not to hate that stream so much, (lol yeah RIGHT!) it does get easier every time you have to swim it.

Moni-
Thanks for the quick reply. What time is it where you are?
Anyway, I hope I don't have to go back over. The last time
in that stream I was yelling so much my cat jumped on my lap
and asked "What's the problem?".
Cheers, Tarweed (that's also the cat's name).

Hiya Tarweed!
You are very welcome! I just happened to be here & know the answer!
It is NOW 1:23 a.m Central Standard Time if my clock is right ; )
LOL, My Siamese "Boo" knows if I am on my PC and I become audible but I am not sweet talking him, it is time to leave (A rare occurence). He spends most of his time in my lap, lol...all 17 lbs of him! I need more lap!

(I think I rubbed a raw spot on my mouse pad trying to stay looking straight ahead going up that #?@%*%&* stream! Putting pressure on the mouse DID NOT HELP!!!)

17 lbs? A cat or a Whiskah barbarian?
Its 10:30 PM, daylight savings time, here in New Zealand. Temperature
about 75 F. What's it like in Bushland (Texas)?
Signing off for the night.
P.S. Question to justify posting this: Is there any need to return to
Ishad N'ha or Valeia after exhausting the guilds' quests (Including
assassin)?

LOL, yes, more like a Whiskahs Barbarian!

He earned the nickname "Ghengus Boo" because he takes what he wants from the other cats and there is no arguing with him when he is determined to have this or that toy.

Poor guy though, he is so big that the others are all afraid to play with him, leaving him with his only playmate, a 7lb, 10 month old "midget" of a cat we call Captain Marmalade.
The tiniest cat I have ever seen, she will give ol Boo a run for his money while the others look on in horror and amazement that she will attempt to tackle the giant!

(See them through the link in my profile here)

Texas is wet today but at least it is warm, about 72 this afternoon. : )

There is really no need to return to Ishad N'ha once you have exhausted the guild quests...I only ever returned to steal the Dwarf Kings key and raid his treasury once I had raised my pickpocket skill to something I thought would keep me from getting pummeled with miner's bombs and then to use the Boogre Brews on the alter of Bongu, which I had missed the first time around.
: )
