In RPG games, mostly I try to avoid multi-classed characters because they gain level slowly. And levels are specialy important for priests and wizards. I got Branwen as cleric but she's annoying I dont really like her type her stupid voice and her stupid god tempus. She's irritating! I heard about yeslick but he's multi classed. it is a big penalty? what's the difference between them? only 1 level? you prefer yeslick or branwen? I'm fighter I have minsc (fighter/archer) kivan (archer) Imoen (ranged) dynhaier (ranged) branewn (ranged)

well i like branwen between the two but then I tend to armor her up and give her a nice hammer so she can also melee.

Yea, I really don't like multi classed characters and I have only one multi-classed character which I dueled. I have Branwen in my party I just wish I could lower her THAC0 somehow but I just put a sling on her. It depends what you need and what class Yeslik is multi-classed to.

Well, Yeslick is a fighter/cleric, making him thougher in melee combat, and as a cleric, he maxes out only one level below a single-class one, so that's really not much of a penalty.
Is Viconia not an option? Sure, she's evil, her STR and CON are quite low, but her DEX is awesome, resulting in a sweet AC, and her 50% magic resistance comes in very handy at times. |

With multi class charators you level up slower yet you get more skills than a normal class but I like single classes my self. The makers of BG1 put far to many Multi class charators in for my liking to find single class charators you best bet is finding bards and rangers etc along the sword coast to join you partly

At the EXP cap for ToSC:
A Fighter is Level 8, a Thief is Level 10, and a Fighter/Thief is Level 7/8, combining the best of both classes, including the ability to Triple Backstab while wearing Full Plate (Yep--cheesy as hell, sure, but I used to do it for fun.) The "loss" of the Multiclass is 40 Thieving points and a single point of THAC0. Oh, lamentation. A Cleric is Level 8, a Mage is Level 9, and a Cleric/Mage is Level 7/7. You get the exact same THAC0 of a true-class Cleric, and the ability to wear a Large Shield+1 and the Helm of Glory while casting Mage spells. Your loss? A few spell slots and the whopping 1 Level 5 Wizard spell per day you would have had as a pure Mage. My "perfect party" for the whole BG series is all Multiclasses.
