Mage spell 'Blur' and the WP for a Cleric ?

There's a couple of things in ID that I'm not sure about so if anybody can help that'd be great.

1. I am considering buying the Shimmering Sash that allows the wearer to have the effects of 'blur'. According to the description it has a -3 to hit on missile and melee attacks on him - does this mean it effectively increases the AC bonus by +3 against such attacks.

2. As my solo class cleric goes up through the levels I don't got the option to increase an existing WP from 1 to 2. Are they only allowed 1 WP slot per weapon.

Yes, clerics max out at 1 proficiency point. So do rogues, bards, druids, and mages. Rangers and Paladins max at 2; fighters can go up to 5.

Buy the Shimmering Sash! It does increase the AC bonus by three, and (perhaps more importantly) is compatible with other 'AC bonus' equipment. Most armor, rings/cloaks of protection, etc only allow you to wear one such item, but the Shimmering Sash can be worn with any of those items.

It's an excellent item for your main tank.

Only warriors can devote more than 1 PP to a particular weapon classification.

Yup, shimmering sash is one of the greatest items in the game. Considering how early you can get it, it's the first thing I save my money for.

Thanks I will definitely buy the sash now. There are so many magical items available but with limited money i am just concentrating on improving AC bonus for my characters.
I have learnt much through this forum and will next time d/c from fighter to druid or cleric thereby increasing WP slots. Thanks again.
