Whoh!
I'm not much of a Royal person, but my comiserations go out to them and their family!! The Queen mother must be distraught, outliving your daughter!

It's a shame that it has come at such a happy time for the Royals (50th anniversary and all).

My condolenses,,,

I'm not a huge fan of the Royal family either, but this is sad news to me. She had been ill for some time, though it still must be quite a shock for the rest of the family.

She died this morning, in peace, with her kids by her side.

She had a stroke yesterday....

Sad news indeed.

Actually the 50th anniversary isn't just a happy time for the Queen. Her anniversary of ascending to the throne is also the anniversary of her father's death

You know what really bugs me? The media story I saw this morning about her death went on to talk about her continuing health problems and her being too fond of smoke and drink. It actually showed clips of her years ago at a function smoking and drinking. Was that really necessary?

She may have been a symbol of capitalist opression , but she was also a person. Still extremely sad to see her go, even if I opposed pretty much everything she stood for.
